One in five American children is obese, and 70% of obese kids will likely continue to be obese adults. On any given day, more than a third of children and adolescents will eat fast food. This health crisis carries a hefty price tag: Obesity and its related illnesses cost an estimated $190.2 billion annually. Eating better can help, but children are only eating half the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables. Land-grant universities are stepping in to help.
